Ocean Yacht Club was founded to offer exclusive sailing at a reasonable rate. A membership in Ocean Yacht Club offers you the opportunity to sail with fully maintained and skippered yachts in tropical waters.
Yachts & Location
To deliver exclusive sailing we have chosen Jeanneau Yachts and their brand new
Jeanneau 57. The yacht is delivered with four double cabins separate from the fifth skipper cabin, with a variety of options to comfort your every need onboard.
Our yachts will be based primarily in tropical waters, where we have the opportunity to have operations all year round.
The first part of our fleet will be based in the Canary islands with further plans to establish fleets in the Caribbien and the Mediterranean. Our members are free to chose where they wish to initiate their sailing holiday.
Skipper & Service
With Ocean Yacht Club the service is exceptional comparing to ordinary charter.
All yachts will be skippered. An experienced sailor with necessary experience and qualifications will always have the main responsibility of the yacht, navigation and onboard safety. As a member your participation in sailing the yacht is completely optional and the skipper will surely let you pull the ropes if you wish to. Our skippers welcome you onboard regardless of prior sailing experience.
The skipper is responsible for keeping the yacht in a representative shape at all times. All maintenance or repairs will be attended in a discrete fashion.
The Skipper will be well oriented in local waters and can provide helpful advice and guidance during your trip. He will also be helpful in arranging activities such as diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, trips ashore or booking dinnerplans.
The Skipper duties onboard besides sailing the yacht include being a good host, who can assist with practical wishes you may have. For instance provisioning, cooking, serving drinks or looking after the children onboard.
Our skippers are recruited with these matters at hand. Their experience and personal qualities is weighed highly against operating the yacht and serving you and your guests onboard.
As a result our skippers are offered a substantially better salary then ordinary charter companies.
Appointment of use
As a fractional owner you will every year be able to make a demand for which weeks you wish to use. As far as possible you will be given your desired week. In a twist between several fractional owners the weeks will be appointed according to a system of points: Each year every fractional owner receives 10.000 points. If you wish to use your fractional ownership in high season this requires more points than low season. If you decide on a low season week one year, you have a better bargain the next year since you have saved some points by chosing a low season week the first year.
Prices & details
One fractional ownerhip is EUR 20.000,-. One fractional ownership is valid for 20 years. A fraction gives you the right to use a yacht one week every year for 20 years.
All expenses in regards of maintenance, insurance, harbor, skipper and administrative work is divided between the fractional owners.
The yachts will be renewed every fifth year. As a member you are therefore guaranteed a right to use a well equipped and new yacht for the entire ownership. A renewal of the yacht is financed by a yearly estimated debrieviation in addition to the sale of the excisting yacht. The estimated debrieviation yearly is calculated in the yearly ownership-cost.
Yearly ownership-cost for fractional members, debrieviation-cost included, is stipulated at EUR 2.150,-
All fractional owners are free to use their membership however they see fit. The market price of chartering a similar yacht is stipulated to EUR 7-10.000,-. By chartering 2-3 weeks you could easily finance your own fractional ownership and membership in Ocean Yacht Club.
Furthermore your fractional ownership can freely change hands by sale or by gift.
As a fractional owner you may also return your ownership to the company free of charge.
Legal structure
We have estblished a company in Spain (”Ownercompany”). This company will be responsible for selling fractional ownerships and ordering yachts. All our yachts will be 100% financed by selling fractional ownerships. A new yacht will not be ordered until the sales of fractional ownerships has financed the cost of a new yacht. The fractional ownership contract therefore has a clausul which says that x fractional ownership contracts has to be signed within a set date for it to be valid. If this date is crossed before all fractional ownerships in one yacht has been sold, both parties stand free to withdraw from the contract. There is no advance payment upon this date. In the case of x fractional ownership contracts being signed in time, all contracts are binding and the payment of the fractional ownership is due.
A separate operations company that is 100% owned by the Ownercompany will be responsible for all maintenance and the daily running of operations.
As a fractional owner you will automaticly be a member in Ocean Yacht Club. As a member you are bound by Club rules and regulations. Ocean Yacht Club has security in the yacht. In terms of this all fractional owners are safe if the Company should foreclose. The company is all equity financed and our business model is dept free. There is therefore no real risk of foreclosure.

A fractional ownership gives you the opportunity to accomplish your dream of sailing a luxurious yacht in tropical waters. Just for a fraction of the price of owning a yacht on your own. A Jeanneau 57 or similar costs EUR 885.000 fully equipped.
Furthermore you will have to calculate substantial operations cost every year by owning it yourself. Most yacht owners don’t have time to sail more than a few weeks every year anyway. The alternative of chartering a yacht will cost you the same, but the yachts are often worn out and poorly equipped.
As a fractional owner you have the flexibility of buying the amount of weeks you wish to use, without worrying about all the details that follow keeping a yacht of this size. Included in your fractional ownership is a well paid skipper who will take care of your every need, so that you can enjoy your sailing.
